BASINGSTOKE’S workforce is at its most productive while other towns and cities are still waking up.
That is according to a new survey conducted by Regus, the global workspace provider, which has a base at Chineham Park.
The survey asked more than 3,000 business owners and senior managers in the UK to nominate the time of day when they were most productive.
Here in Basingstoke, 63 per cent of respondents nominated the early morning, before the regular nine to five day begins, as their most productive time.
Only the London borough of Croydon – 65 per cent – was more productive during these hours.
The results point to a new mindset amongst UK businesses, with many recognising the need to be more flexible in their approach to employee workspaces and working patterns.
Richard Morris, UK chief executive at Regus, said: “We no longer work in the same way as the nine to five generation.
Forward-thinking businesses are acutely aware of the value in providing employees with the flexibility to work remotely and to avoid the time-sapping, energy-draining commute.
“Our members tell us that having the freedom to work remotely, in a well-equipped, professional environment, helps them to become more productive.
“Basingstoke’s early birds are stealing a march on their competitors!”
