THE owner of Deb’s Beauty Salon saw an opportunity and made what she hopes will be a good move.
Deborah Ashcroft-Medford has relocated from Chineham Park to a former florist shop unit in nearby Reading Road.
The move was marked by a celebration with clients and friends last Saturday.
“A business colleague of mine saw this unit was up for lease and told me about it,” said Deborah.
“And when I saw it, I thought that this is just a great opportunity. I’d always wanted to have a shop, but it had to be in the right place for me.”
Deborah used to be based at Fitness First on the business park, where Deb’s Beauty Salon has grown, offering a variety of treatments ranging from waxing, massage, facials and tanning. “I started my business nearly 11 years ago in a very small room inside Fitness First,” said Deborah. “The business grew to two treatments rooms about five years ago, and now I am here.”
Although she had fond memories of being based at Chineham Park, the move seems right for Deborah.
She said: “My clients who work on Chineham Park can still walk to me, and now that I am in a more visible residential area, I’m hoping to attract more local people.”
The spacious new premises boast two treatment rooms, a reception area and two manicure stations. Deborah said: “This has a much more peaceful ambience, where people can feel more comfortable and relaxed. That’s what it’s all about – giving the clients a good experience.”
