Biopharmaceutical giant Shire races in as a sponsor for the Basingstoke Half Marathon

CHINEHAM-based biopharmaceutical firm Shire was quick off the mark to sign up as the headline sponsor of the third Basingstoke Half-Marathon.
Jessica Mann, senior vice-president of Shire Global Communications & Government Relations, said: “As a healthcare business, we’re focused on enabling people with life-altering conditions to lead better lives.
“We’re really pleased to be associated with this successful event that brings together so many people in the Basingstoke area in a fun and rewarding day.”
The half-marathon is on October 6 and organised by Destination Basingstoke.
