A COMPANY that can create beautiful worlds blew away the judges in this category. This amazing business was set up just five years ago and it has already become a market leader in the development of computer games and the virtual worlds for PlayStation 3.

Now a well-known name among gamers, it has had seven million visits from one of its latest games.

The judges were impressed with this lucrative enterprise which makes good business sense.

They were also impressed with nDreams turning around its fortunes after suffering serious losses in revenue during the PlayStation hack last year.

Poised to enter the more mainstream games market, the company employs around 22 people at its office in Farnborough.

The Online Excellence trophy was collected by chief executive officer Patrick O’Luanaigh and lead artist Andrew Madden.

“This is a brilliant award for us,” said Patrick. “We’ve been going for five years and we’ve always wanted to win an award, but we’ve never won one until now.

“We have a lot of really talented people at Farnborough and we’re growing quite fast so this is brilliant recognition for our services and means a lot to us.

“We’ve known for quite a long time that we’ve done quite well and finally it’s like the wider community is starting to recognise what we do.

“Seven million people have visited our website and to actually get some business recognition of that as a valued member of the community is a very valuable thing.”

Susan Paterson, from Minuteman Press, said: “I was one of the judges and was really impressed with nDreams – we were really blown away.

“We learned so much. It was absolutely fascinating to realise how much is involved with this business and to know what it has done and how it has evolved over the years.”
