A LEADING Basingstoke telecoms company has added another accolade to its trophy cabinet.

Southern Communications, based in Dummer, won the SME Unified Communications Solution Award at the Comms National Awards (CNA) event held in Park Lane Hilton Hotel, London.

Accepting the award, chief execu-tive officer Paul Bradford said “It is fantastic to receive this award – we are delighted to be recognised for our continued commitment to delivering first-class communication solutions to businesses in the SME sector. “We strive for the highest stand-ards in everything we do, to deliver the best to our customers, and this is evidence of that. “I am very proud of the whole team at Southern Communications and the partners we work with to deliver leading edge solutions to our customers.”

The accolade came just a week after a customer of Southern Com-munications, Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP) won Best Small Contact Centre in the European Call Centre & Customer Service Awards 2012. RHP is using an NEC telephone system installed and maintained by Southern Communications, which has enabled it to reduce costs by £20,000 a year and build better customer relationships.

Southern Communications has been providing telecoms equipment and services to businesses since 1965 and has seen revenues grow from a turnover of £2million in 2002 to over £15m in 2012. And this week, Southern Communications is in the running for two more awards. The company is a finalist in the Channel Reseller News awards for the SME reseller of the year category. It is also a contender for a trophy at the INSPIRE12 Business Awards, which take place at The Hampshire Court Hotel, in Chineham, as Paul is a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year category.
