FINALLY, fireworks have arrived! This Sunday at the Newfound Recreational Ground, with gates opening at 5pm. Tickets can be prepurchased from The Fox or Jolly Olly’s with some tickets available on the gate. There is no parking for this event, everyone must walk from the village with limited disabled parking at The Fox.

OAKLEY Woodlands Group: This Saturday, the Oakley Woodlands Group are meeting at Cowdown Copse from 10am to 1pm.

GREEN Week: In support of Green Week we have a Kids Go Wild Daffodil-Dig on Saturday, meeting at St John’s lay-by at 10am. Children, who must be accompanied by a responsible adult, are invited to help plant 1,000 wild daffodil bulbs along the multi-user path. Just bring a trowel or a spade and wear gloves. Come for as long as you like!

OAKLEY Woodland Group training course takes place at St John’s Copse on Saturday, from 10am to 3pm. All are very welcome to come along whether as a potential volunteer or just out of interest. There is no charge but donations welcome. Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

JUMBLE Sale: This Saturday, is the Gardening Club Jumble Sale at East Oakley Village Hall (Green Hut), on Hill Road, at 1.45pm. As well as jumble there will be a tombola, raffle and refreshments. Donations of jumble and prizes to the hall from 9.30am in the morning would be gratefully appreciated.

OAKLEY and Deane Neighbourhood Plan: Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council have started the formal consultation on the Oakley and Deane Neighbourhood Plan. The plan sets out a vision for the future of the parish and planning policies which will be used to determine planning applications locally. The consultation runs until October 5.
