These figures, from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Statistics 2006/07, prove that lack of, or poor, training can cause accidents and cost businesses money, time and effort.

And the HSE believes most accidents can be prevented with effective training.

Basingstoke College of Technology's Business Unit is running a series of free breakfast seminars to raise awareness of the key health and safety issues facing employers and to give practical advice on how to avoid risks.

"Health and Safety Solutions" promises to be an informative and thought-provoking breakfast seminar, with up-to-date advice to help you get to grips with health and safety.

The first of these will be held at Beechdown, Beechdown Park, Basingstoke, on January 10, 2008, from 7.30am to 9am.

At the seminar, guest speaker Nick Kemp, HSE health and safety awareness officer, will give a presentation on hot topics facing employers.

Delegates will acquire practical advice on their health and safety training needs from the Business Unit and have the opportunity to network with local employers.

Places are limited so book now.
