HARTLEY Wintney FC bounced back from losing two games in three days by winning 2-1 away at Hanworth Villa on Tuesday night.
The village side lost to both Frimley Green and Wembley last week, despite leading at half-time in both games, and they led at the break again on Tuesday thanks to Sam Argent’s goal.
The hosts were awarded a penalty in the second half, and while Hartley goalkeeper Craig Atkinson saved the spot-kick, Hanworth did pull level.
However, Hartley were not to be denied and grabbed all three points thanks to Argent’s second goal of the night.
The result leaves Hartley seventh in the Combined Counties League Premier Division table, and they could move into the top five if they are able to win their games in hand.
The village side face two mid-table teams in the coming week, travelling to Badshot Lea on Saturday before hosting Farnham Town on Tuesday night.
