UPDATE: Trains are now running normally following a points failure.
PASSENGERS at Basingstoke train station are facing disruption, with trains being cancelled and delayed up to 30 minutes.
A points failure, which are sections of track allowing trains to move from one line to another, is causing the disruption, with a number of services affected.
The CrossCountry line between Manchester Piccadilly and Bournemouth is impacted, as well as the Great Western Railway line between Reading and Basingstoke, and the South Western Railway route between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour/Exeter St Davids/Weymouth.
A line is blocked due to the points failure, with disruption expected to last until 12.30pm.
If you are delayed by more than 15 minutes, you may be eligible for compensation according to National Rail, further details are available at nationalrail.co.uk/help-and-assistance/compensation-and-refunds/
